Spipiyus Woven Blanket
Spipiyus Woven Blanket
The Spipiyus Woven Blanket is art in tapestry form, woven entirely of soft, luxurious cotton. Up to 70% of the cotton used is recycled! Use it as a picnic blanket, hang it up above your bed, on a wall, or cozy up with it, along with a good book and a cup of tea!
The Spipiyus blanket is inspired by the fauna of the Sunshine Coast, a coastal region only accessible by ferry in British Columbia. Spipiyus is the Sechelt First Nations word for marbled murrelet, a threatened sea bird that lives only in the Old Growth forests, as it requires large areas of old growth to nest. Spot them in the upper left corner of the tapestry.

Colour: the threads used in this blanket include soft black, emerald green, forest green, sage, honey-yellow, warm hues of brown, and muted shades of pink, orange, and purple.
